DB8 – Eight output Direct Base
Ideal for Tortoise and other stall-motor machines, low power lighting circuits and other 12 volt uses up to 60ma. We offer just the Bases, or a Panel Package comes that comes with either 2, 4, or 8 Touch Toggles and a 2, 4 or 8 output Base.
Our Direct Bases each have pairs of wire-clamping screw terminal outputs. The terminals can clamp firmly on wires from 26 to 14 gauge. Each output provides reversing polarity DC power. Each output terminal pair unplugs from the Control Base to let you connect wires more conveniently. With this feature, wires can be connected to the terminals in your hand where it may be easier to reach or see them. Removable terminals even let you re-arrange your connections if you need to, without disconnecting the wires.
In each terminal pair, one pin is powered on Green and grounded on Red. The other is powered on Red and grounded on Green. This output is ideal for connecting reversing DC devices like stall motor switch machines across the outside pins. LEDs or any diode protected circuit can be turned on and off with this same supply. In either case, you can reverse the output indication (Red/Green to Green/Red) just by reversing the wires.
A single output can power two Tortoise machines at a crossover, or four at a double crossover. Just connect each pair to the same output ( that’s wiring in parallel ). You’ll need to swap them around until they all move to the correct position.
Some stall motor systems with large motors use a bit more power. Our Real-Switch Relay Base can be wired to provide plenty of power to any of these. Switch Tender, and MTB MB1 and MP5 machines all work with our Relay Base.
You will need a 12v Power Supply to power your panel. All of our 12v bases can share a supply for up to 24 controls. You can use your own supply with a 5.5mm barrel plug and a positive center.
