The Panel Power Base lets you start-up and shut-down your entire Touch Toggle system with a single always-on Touch Toggle. When your panel is off a single red indicator remains lit, and touching that controlling Toggle will bring the rest of the panel, and all the other Touch Toggles, to life. Power for your Touch Toggle system connects with a barrel connector or terminals on the Panel Power Base. Controlled power is supplied to the rest of the Touch Toggle bases through the side to side power sharing pins, or output terminals. These terminals can be used to send power through a buss of supply wiring to remote bases. (Be sure to provide enough power for all your panels when operating from a single supply.)
Chaining Power For All Your Panels with Separate Supplies
In larger systems with more than one power supply a second Panel Power Base can also respond to voltage-sensing control terminals (5v – 24v) built into every Panel Power Base. Secondary Power Bases respond to the primary’s output voltage, in the same panel with a second voltage, or at a distance. This way secondary Panel Power Bases will let the primary control Toggle activate supplies for other panels around the layout. Each Panel Power Base can control up to 10 Amps of DC current from supplies of 8v to 30v.
Controlling The Whole Layout’s AC Power
This Panel Power Base can be easily extended to control AC power for your entire layout! An “IOT” (Internet of Things) relay is available which perfectly suits this purpose. This IOT Relay by Digital Loggers has two switched AC outlets, an always-on outlet for your Panel Power Base DC supply, and even an outlet that turns off when everything else turns on (for maybe a night-light?). This relay can switch power to extension cords and power strips feeding up to 13 Amps of AC power. The small green terminals on this flexible little box are connected like a secondary Power Base using just two small wires from the DC output of a Panel Power Base.
