Connection to an auto-reverser to align the turnout for a train exiting a loop
The Reverse Follower Adapter notices a reversing power supply, and appropriately sets a Touch Toggle to green or red when it reverses. The adapter is commonly used in an anti-derail arrangement where a turnout thrown against a train is automatically reversed to allow clear running. This adapter is activated by the change in matching or reversed input power.
The polarity can be followed in circuits from 7v to 24v, DC, or DCC. The inputs are fully isolated, protecting the control base power and any other adapters.
The Toggle is only affected at the moment the input circuit is changed. The Toggle will work as usual at any other time. This automates the turnout only at the moment it’s required, leaving the manual control functional at all other times. The Toggle will always indicate state of the current output to the base whether activated by the input or a touch.
The center-to-left terminal connection of the three terminals offers a reversed behavior to the center-to-right connection. This allows you to quickly sort out correct red or green selection preferences.
The Reverse Follower Adapter will work well when the reversing section ends near the loops entry turnout. Reversing sections, and loops with multiple access points should be carefully considered so you don’t get unexpected results.
This can be used to:
- Respond to reversed and auto-reversed circuits. Create anti-derail type turnout controls,
- Respond to any connected circuit the moment it is turned on or off.
A Touch Toggle is not required if the Reverse Follower is only needed for fully automatic operation.
